It was the Nobel Prize-winning chemist Linus
Pauling who originally said, "To come up with a good idea,
you need a lot of ideas."
Before you order business cards, and set up
a web site, consider your tag line for your company. Your
tag line helps in the branding process of your company. It
completes your name by explaining what you do. It should
reflect the personality of your company.
Take a look at your business and highlight
two points that stick out in your mind. This takes you back
to our origin statement for you to consider of...
- what the company does
- what makes it unique among competitors
Consider these two thoughts and write down
some various ideas. Brain
storm just “words” that reflect who and what your business
is. Write down words that relate to your business.
Keeping these thoughts in mind, start putting together some tag lines. Then
have someone else in your company, or friend or even a client write
down some ideas. You can mix and match the ideas until one
hits you as the “perfect tagline”. Remember
to keep your taglines short and simple, so they will be easy to remember.
Anyway, you get the idea. I would seriously
have a brainstorming session with friends and associates and come
up with a tag line for your website, business cards, and "brand" your
business.
